ETH4D Research to Action Grants for International Students in Switzerland – 2023
ETH Zurich offers various funding opportunities for international students pursuing research programs at the university.
International students at ETH Zurich can apply for scholarships offered by the university’s Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP), which provides full tuition fee waivers and a monthly living allowance for the duration of a Master’s or Ph.D. program. The scholarship is merit-based, and students are selected based on their academic excellence, personal achievements, and potential to contribute to society.

Eligibility for the ETH4D Research to Action Grants
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants
- must be employed or enrolled at ETH Zurich.
- with projects revolving around activities in a “least-?developed”, “low-income” and “lower-middle-income” country, and direct involvement of collaborating institutions or agencies from said countries will be given preference.
- must meet the entry and academic requirements of their desired study program at the bachelor, master, doctoral, or postdoctoral level, to secure admission.
- must be proficient in English and German language and meet the proficiency requirements of the university.
