Prior to beginning a transfer in 1967 to a purpose-built 300 acres (120 ha) campus in Bailrigg, 4 kilometers (2.5 mi) to the south, the university was previously headquartered in St Leonard’s Gate in the heart of the city. The Alexandra Square central plaza was given that name in honor of the university’s first chancellor, Princess Alexandra. The campus buildings are built around a central walkway known as the Spine.

Eligibility Criteria for the Peel Trust Studentship
